Reflexology is a complementary therapy that is performed on the feet or hands. During a reflexology treatment, reflex points on the feet or hands are worked. These reflex points correspond to parts of the body. The aim of working these points is to bring balance back to the body.
Reflexology can increase the sense of wellbeing, promote deep relaxation, reduce stress and tension, aid sleep and improve mood. Reflexology cannot cure medical conditions. However, it can help increase wellbeing, ease symptoms, and reduce stress associated with long term medical conditions.
At the start of the first session, I will take a full medical history from you. I do this to help me tailor the reflexology treatment for you. There may be occasions where it is not appropriate to treat you due to a medical condition. I will discuss this with you, so you understand why this is the case.
Swedish Massage is a complementary therapy which uses hand massage techniques such as stroking and kneading to work muscles in the body. Swedish massage can improve circulations, ease muscle tension and promote relaxation. It can also improve mood, aid sleep, relieve stress, anxiety and depression, and alleviate pain.

Sole & Body Work is based on Normand Road, Dysart, which is easily accessible from Kirkcaldy, Cardenden, Glenrothes, Kinghorn, Burntisland, East and West Wemyss, Methil, Leven, and the surrounding areas.
I worked in education as a secondary school teacher for 19 years. During this time, I became interested in counselling. I left teaching in 2009 and went on to study counselling. I qualified in 2015 as a Relationship Counsellor. For the past 15 years, I have worked in a variety of roles in the voluntary sector, including counselling and therapeutic work with young people and adults.
I am interested in how anxiety, stress and traumatic events can impact the body and how body work such as reflexology and massage can help alleviate the symptoms of these in the body.
Another area of interest I have is the impact of perimenopause and menopause on the body. I have completed Menopause Reflexology training with Sally Earlam Reflexology, and I am offering focussed Menopause Reflexology to perimenopausal and menopausal clients. Perimenopause and menopause can impact our quality of life. Reflexology can help improve wellbeing and restore balance when applied in conjunction with other changes to how we approach our physical and emotional wellbeing such as diet, alcohol consumption, and exercise.
