Body work and how the body responds
'}}

One of the treatments Sole & Body Work offers is reflexology. People come and are amazed at how relaxed they feel after a treatment. My clients also comment on things that they experience during a treatment. A common body response to reflexology is a rumbling or gurling stomach. This can happen with reflexology and other body work treatment; when this happens, it is a sign that your body is moving from fight or flight to the state of rest and digest. The body is often out with its window of tolerance and is on high alert even without us being aware of it. A gurgling stomach is a positive sign, telling you that your body is relaxing and is going into the window of tolerance.

Body work can trigger somatic responses like yawning, burping, and passing gas.  There is no need to be embarrassed or concerned if your body starts to do these things. Its all part of your body becoming relaxed and settled and that is the whole point of body work treatment. Body work can also trigger emotional responses; tears are a common response to body work.

I offer to clients a safe environment where the body can relax, destress, and release what it is holding. I  support clients to notice what is happening in their body and to offer it kindness and compassion. Regular body work can support physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
